I like to think of the future as a box of surprises, some big, some small, good and bad.  You never know how things will turn out but you get a chance in the present to work towards the future you dream.  There are no guarantees, just the work you put upfront now.

After a rough year, I decided to follow my heart.  I guess we both knew that one important thing to do was start moving preparations and embrace a simple life.  That is where we are now.
I guess this is the planning stages.  I have started to lay down a couple of bricks with my freelance writing and translation services in place.  Also, with The Owl, Book, and Candle – my internet site.  Another of my heart desires made real.

There are many other things that have to be put in place, but those will have to wait until the move.  For now, I’ll just enjoy every challenge and every day with its news – good or bad.
I was thinking about ways to simplify, besides declutering and pairing down things.  I realized that we used to many cleaning products, and we all know that they can be expensive.  Well, I started to look around for that “amazing do it all product” that I can control and dilute its strenght as needed.  I found it, and it works wonders.  It is called 20 Mule Team Borax (natural laundry booster and multi-purpose cleaner).  I tried it in my tub and I loved it; the best is that I can control the strenght I need by diluting in water.  So, now this is the only thing I will use for cleaning. You can get it at your supermarket or at Walmart for less than four dollars. This is what the box looks like in case you are thinking about trying it.

Its been around since 1891.
I also came across this book and I am enjoying reading it.  It has tons of good ideas, practical and money saving do it yourself projects.  The book is called:  MaryJane’s ideabook – cookbook – lifebook – for the farmgirl in all of us – by MaryJane Butters, a farmgirl herself.  It is a thick book well worth it.  Here’s a picture of it.
There you have it, these have been my best finds this week.  I will keep you informed of any new ones.
Don’t forget to visit The Owl, Book and Candle for cute treasures.
